Attestation
A report in which an accounting firm states whether the reserves behind a token match the published figures on a given date.
An attestation is a point-in-time statement. The firm reads the custody records and bank confirmations for the reserve, compares them with the token supply on chain, and reports whether the two agree on the date examined.
An attestation is narrower than an audit. It does not test a full set of financial statements and it does not cover the period between reports, which is why CenterNetwork publishes attestations on a fixed cycle with the file, the period and the checksum.
